I have a question about the unitrike. Was there ever one called the axel skatebike, made in the mid-late 80s and sold in the U.S.??? Where do they sell a modern version of these types of bikes? I'd like to get one, are they still around????

Hey man, I wanted to let you know we just concluded our 3rd Annual Invitational Off-Road Unitrike Challenge. Terry and Danny finished with the longest runs. Lauren won for the most technical run. Mike A was definitely "Mr. Consistency." The biggest let down of the night was definitely Nick. Being quite possibly the most athletic of the field his lofty expectations never materialized. Christina took home the award for the "Working Man." She gave it her all on every attempt despite her lack of experience. Toward the end it seemed that Danny wouldn't live up to the hype following his stellar 2005 performance. However he unleashed an excellent last run much to the chagrin of Terry. Unchoice words were exchanged however the following day, Terry, being the bigger man that he is stepped up to the plate and made amends and all was forgotten.
Late in the event it seemed everyone's experience would be sidelined when it was noticed that the unitrike seat was about to split in two. Terry and Mike A being quick on their feet were able to resurrect the fallen soldier with some quick thinking and heavy duty packaging tape. Way to keep the games alive guys!
In the freestyle category, Terry literally "brought down the house" when attempting to replicate Mike A's patented "Stripper A" maneuver. Danny showed good form with the creation of his "Trike Attack" maneuver scaring then delighting young Nick.
Luckily injuries were kept to a minimum this year. Several bumps, bruises, and grass stains were endured only adding to the delight of the cameras and the fans, especially Olga. Danny's mildly hyper-extended knee is healing well and luckily no major cartalagenous injuries were sustained this year.
Of course none of this would of been possible without the help of Rick from Bike-O-Rama who provided us with a new tube and slightly used white tire which we were able to bargain down to $3. We would also like to thank our corporate sponsors Avid, Maxxis, Primo, GT, Taco Bueno and of course Le Run.
All in all it was another succesful event and we are looking forward to the 2007 games in their new location of scenic Rochester, NY. Despite the conclusion of the 2006 games, those with something to prove have already started their training and preparation for the 2007 games. Terry was sighted doing calf raises in the bathroom and Christina has already made an appointment with her sports psychologist.
We would like to extend invitations to all interested in attending the 2007 games. More information regarding event details and lodging accomodations to follow.
And in the immortal words of our fellow Unitrike comrade, Spanners, aka the daddy,
"Unitrikers of the world unite!"

(Please let us know how to post our pictures of this glorious annual celebration of the unitrike.)
